In most cases it makes sense to purchase a state park pass when you plan on visiting the state parks where you live or are traveling to, but Illinois state parks are an exception. This is because Illinois doesn’t charge an entrance fee to any of their state parks, except for state beaches where there is a $1.00 fee. Due to this fact, there is no need for an Illinois state park pass. Since Illinois state parks are free, get out there and enjoy all they have to offer and enjoy the outdoors.
